Dustin Cloos | Jeremy Davenport | Tito Martinez | Neil Talent
RuwA’ “The Band” has been established as a music ministry to expose every person to the word of God through music. RuwA’ will only participate in concerts and play in venues that are edifying to the body of Christ. The bands specific focus in RuwA’ Ministries is to draw crowds and prepare them to receive the gifts of RuwA’ Evangelism Outreach.
Dustin Cloos - Lead Singer
Hey Ya’ll my name is Dustin and yup you guessed it I’m the lead singer for RuwA’. I rededicated my life to Christ in December 2005 at Seed of Abraham Christian Center International (SACCI) where I now serve in various capacities. I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world Brenda and I have three of the best children ever Tiana, C’era and Ethan. I love God, my family, SACCI and music. Currently I’m attending Oral Roberts University for Christian Care and Counseling. My day job is serving this great country of ours and the United States Army, in the area of Knowledge Management. I was born in Washington State February 26, 1975. My family moved to Idaho some years later where I attended Wallace High School. I joined the Army in 1993, met my lovely wife in Texas, had 2 children recently adopted another and there it is my life in a nutshell. If you have any questions about me or about RuwA’ Ministries please feel free to E-mail me. Thank you and Walk in the Blessing! Oh, yeah I like Cheese and Coffee! dustin@ruwaministries.org
Jeremy Davenport - Lead Guitar
I was born on November 30, 1977 and grew up in North Carolina. I started playing guitar and writing music at age 20 while stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. I am married to the most supportive and beautiful wife, Diana. I have three wonderful, adorable children, TJ, Nisa and Neriah. My musical influences included Mettalica, Alice in Chains, and Tool until I gave my life to JESUS CHRIST on March 19, 2004. Now I listen to artists like Pillar, Spoken, Disciple, Project 86, Israel and the New Breed, and even a little Jeremy Camp. My gear setup is the classic hard rock staple, Gibson Les Paul into a Marshall amp with a splash of Fender acoustic for good measure. I love JESUS CHRIST and am submitted to HIM in every way. jeremy@ruwaministries.org
Tito Martinez - Drums (Percussions if your fancy)
Hi, I’m Tito, and I sit the percussion chair with RuwA. I was born on November 3 1961 (which makes me the “old guy” in the band), growing up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I come from a very musical family, and I have served Christ through music from a very early age, playing in youth music ministries in my younger years, and now continue to serve the Lord with RuwA. My musical influences are very diverse, ranging from Latin, to Classic Rock, to Jazz, and everything in between. I am married to Adriana, my lovely wife of 23 years, and have two beautiful daughters, Adriana (Jr.) and Brenda. For all you gearheads out there - with RuwA I play a highly customized Roland V-Drums TD-12 electronic drum kit. Even though I grew up playing acoustic sets and still prefer them, the V-kit gives me a broader color palette and greater flexibility, still with great stage sound. I love God, my family, my country, music, and (oh yeah…) golf!
Neil Tallent - Bass Guitar
My name’s Nehemiah Tallent; I usually go by Neil (to save innocents from having to slaughter my name), and I was born in the same year Tito graduated from music school. I fell into drums in high school, and studied music at Alma College (in Michigan, where it snows). I picked up acoustic guitar and spent some time in vocal choir prior to enlisting in the Army. After I completed my enlistment, I settled in Arizona and took up position to teach, play music, and spend time in quiet reflection. I then met my wonderful wife Kelly…and quiet reflection has been upgraded to raising a family (currently at 3 boys: Ayden, Ian, and Elijah). I began playing bass with RUWA in late 2008 - and I feel like I’ve finally found the instrument I was made to play, and the musicians I was made to play with. I’ve always enjoyed music ranging from the Beatles to Radiohead to Ella Fitzgerald; my current influences on bass are Paul McCartney & Rodger Waters. I seriously admire Victor Wooten, but can’t claim him as an influence - I can’t follow what he’s playing, but it sounds incredible. Go Detroit Lions!
